Who is behind it
I went to 90 countries and only started telling the stories properly at about sixty.
For years the footage piled up without a voice over it — clips that looked good and said nothing. What changed is the format: one country, one narrated episode, told the way you would tell a friend who is thinking of going.
I shoot it, cut it, and narrate it myself. That is not a creative principle, it is arithmetic — a crew does not fit in the budget of somebody who pays for their own flights. It also means a partner is booking one person, not a production.
The rest of the time I build software. That side pays for the side that does not, and it is why the tooling behind this site is mine rather than rented.
